Country-specific privacy addendum for users and operations in United States

This addendum supplements the ZhiYin global privacy policy with requirements specific to United States. Where this addendum conflicts with the global policy, this addendum takes precedence for users located in United States.
Federal Trade Commission (FTC), State Attorneys General
Applicable legislation: CCPA/CPRA (California), State privacy laws
No federal data residency requirement. CCPA applies to California residents regardless of data location.
US state breach laws generally require notification in the most expedient time possible and without unreasonable delay; several states set outer limits of 30 to 45 days.
ZhiYin aligns its incident-response process with these requirements and will notify the relevant regulatory authority and affected individuals within the timeframe required by applicable law.
Retain data only as long as necessary for the stated purpose. CCPA requires 12-month lookback for data requests.
