Broker vs. Agent: License, Liability, and the Supervisory Mandate
- 1
Transaction Management, CRM, and Brokerage Compliance Systems
This course is for licensed agents stepping up to the broker exam and for new brokers who must now supervise agents, carry legal liability, and run a profitable book of business. You will work through the parts of the role an agent never touches: broker-of-record supervisory duties, trust-account and disclosure compliance, listing and buyer-representation agreements under the post-NAR-Settlement rules (buyer-broker compensation off the MLS, mandatory written buyer agreements since August 2024), and the unit economics of commission splits. What is unique here is the focus on the broker's dual job — closing deals and being legally accountable for everyone who closes deals under your license.
